About the Instructor

Ivan Rush first starting his martial arts training in 1986 with Tae Kwon Do, and containued to do so until moving from New Zealand to Australia in 1999 and obtained the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt. In 1988 Ivan became the first student of the Pukekohe Ninjutsu Dojo, where he trained under the instruction of Murry Lynch for the next few years, then the dojo got handed over to him as Murray relocated with his family. Over the years Ivan has also travelled and trained with many visiting International Instructor to New Zealand from all different styles of martial arts including but not all: Professor Wally Jay (founder - small circle Jutitsu), Professor Rick Clark (founder - Ao denko Jitsu - Pressure points), Iain Waite (Ryuku Kempo - pressure points), Toshishiro Obata (founder - Shinkendo - sword), and of cause Maasaki Hatsumi Soke of the Bujinkan Dojo. Ivan has also taught people from the military, police, prison officers, security personnel to unarmed combat training for Protective Security Detail (PSD) team members.
Ivan sat and passed his Go Dan test at the 1995 New Zealand Ninpo seminar with Hatsumi Soke, which was held in Auckland. Ivan has also travelled overseas and has trained in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu in Thailand, USA and Japan. Today, Ivan holds the rank of JuGo Dan (5th Level, 10th Dan Black Belt) and is holding classes in Townsville.
